Commercial Construction
Commercial HVAC Construction involves the design, installation, and commissioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in non-residential buildings such as office towers, hospitals, schools, retail centers, warehouses, and industrial facilities.
Unlike residential work, commercial HVAC operates at a much larger scale and complexity, covering:
- Equipment – Rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), boilers, VAV systems, and exhaust fans
- Distribution – Large-diameter ductwork, refrigerant piping, hydronic piping, and insulation systems
- Controls – Building automation systems (BAS/BMS) for centralized monitoring and energy management
- Coordination – Working alongside other trades (electrical, plumbing, structural) and following engineered drawings and specifications
- Code & Compliance – Adhering to ASHRAE standards, SMACNA guidelines, local mechanical codes, and energy efficiency requirements (Title 24, IECC, etc.)
